Gregory's Double-Double Spurs Centurions to Third Straight Win

By Scott Lemon, Yellowstone Christian SID

BILLINGS, Mont. — Billings native Paige Gregory picked up her first collegiate double-double as the Yellowstone Christian College Centurions topped the Bravehearts of Oglala Lakota College (S.D.) 62-43 on Friday night in Billings, securing their third-straight victory.

Both teams struggled throughout the first half, with neither team able to find consistent offense. The Centurions took a 26-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Centurions found their groove offensively in the final two quarters, scoring 36 points in the second half. Yellowstone Christian played without their leading scorer, Leonardine John, due to an ankle injury. John averages ten points per game.

Sound post play was the answer the Centurions were looking for, exploiting the size difference against a much smaller Bravehearts squad. Deandra Cunningham scored a season-best 15 points and pulled down seven board, and Gregory matched that with 14 points of her own to go along with ten rebounds.

Jae Bear Hills attempted 23 shots alone for Oglala Lakota, converting on nine of them for a game-high 20 points. She was the only scorer in double-figures for the Bravehearts.

The Centurions and Bravehearts will square off again in a matinee edition on Saturday, with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m. at The Shrine. For more information about the season and for complete game recaps, visit
