Centurions Rout Bravehearts in Regular Season Finale

By Scott Lemon, Yellowstone Christian SID

KYLE, S.D. — After scoring 102 points on Friday night, the Yellowstone Christian College Centurion offense kept rolling, routing the Oglala Lakota College Bravehearts 109-68 on Saturday afternoon in Kyle, S.D.

The Centurions erupted offensively in the first half, scoring at will throughout the first frame. The 57-point barrage was spearheaded by Abraham Nyok and Aleksandar Brankovic, who scored 13 points each.

YCC nearly mirrored their first half performance, racking up 52 points in the second stanza. The Centurions used a stifling defensive effort to hold the Bravehearts quiet most of the day.

Nyok led all scorers with 21 points. Brankovic and Fabricio Daher Valdivia each chalked up 17 points, and Taylan Barrett recorded 16 points. Like their night on Friday, every player on the Centurion roster reached the scoring column.

Saturday marked the final regular season game for YCC. The Centurions will now play the waiting game to see if they will get an invitation to postseason play. Stay tuned to as well as the YCC Athletics social media pages to see if and when the invitation comes.
