Men Headed to CCNIT in Indiana

By Scott Lemon, Yellowstone Christian SID

BILLINGS, Mont. — For the second straight year, the Yellowstone Christian College Centurions are headed to postseason play, and for the second straight year, their destination is Oakland City, Ind., for the Christian College National Invitation Tournament as announced by Athletic Director/Head Coach Leonard Epps on Friday afternoon.

YCC was one of five at-large bids in an eight-team pool. The final three teams will be announced on Wednesday after conference champions are determined. The opening round opponent for the Centurions is yet to be determined, as each team will be seeded after the final three teams are announced next week.

The tournament will kick off with a banquet held on the campus of Oakland City University on March 8, and the opening round is set for March 9. The tournament will be a bracket format with championship and consolation sides, meaning the Centurions are guaranteed three games in the three-day tournament.

Last season, YCC placed sixth in the CCNIT. The Centurions picked up their first postseason win in program history over Lincoln Christian University (Ill.) to advance to the consolation championship, where they fell to Allen University (S.C.).
