Big Early Run Pushes Argos Past Centurions 84-59

By Scott Lemon, Yellowstone Christian College SID

GREAT FALLS, MT — The University of Great Falls Argos used a 23-0 first half run to take an early commanding lead and never looked back as the Argos topped the Yellowstone Christian College Centurions 84-59 on Friday night in Great Falls.

The Centurions and Argos battled closely for the first five minutes of the ballgame, then the YCC offense went silent for nearly 10 full minutes. Meanwhile, the UGF offense took off, pushing their lead to over thirty points in the first half.

Guard Stefan Tellis led the Centurions offense with 13 points and six rebounds. Tellis was the only player in double figures. Taylan Barrett led the rebounding category with seven. The Achilles heel of YCC this season has been free throw shooting and turnovers. Against Great Falls, the Centurions made only 11 of 18 free throw attempts and turned the ball over 28 times.

The Argos saw three players in double-figures. Davone Oliver, Jr. tallied 17 points, and Sergio Berkley and Sigman Farmer III both had 10.

The Centurions have the weekend to regroup as they prepare for round two against Rocky Mountain College, this time as they host the Bears on Tuesday night at The Shrine Auditorium. The Bears beat YCC 83-75 on Wednesday night in a very competitive contest. For more information about the season and for full game recaps, visit
