SHERIDAN, WY — The Yellowstone Christian College Centurions were unable to overcome a second half surge by the Otero Junior College (Colo.) Rattlers as the Centurions fell 109-76 on Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Holiday Inn Classic at Sheridan College.

The Centurions found themselves down early as the Rattlers capitalized on second chance points early and often. The Rattlers won the rebounding battle 30-21, including nine offensive boards.

Down 48-37 at halftime, the YCC offense went silent in the second half, shooting a dismal 32% (10 of 31) in the second frame. Meanwhile, the Otero offense shot 65% from the field in the second half, outscoring the Centurions 61-39 in the second.

Yellowstone Christian was paced offensively by Taylan Barrett who racked up 22 points. Abraham Nyok and Aaron Munday-Rashid finished with 13 points each, and Aleksandar Brankovic added 12 of his own. The Centurions made only six of 22 three-point attempts, including only three of 15 in the second half.

Otero, located just under 200 miles southeast of Denver, saw five players in double-digits. Michael Sparks led the way with a game-high 25 points, followed by Jordan Jones with 20, Sekou Cisse with 14, Chudier Bile with 13, and Jervae Robinson with 10 points.

The Centurions are back home on Sunday as they play host to fellow NCCAA team Oak Hills Christian College, a school about the same size as YCC located in Bemidji, Minn. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Freedom Church. For more information about the season and for full game recaps, visit
