Billings, MT: Head women’s basketball coach Brandon Rogers is excited to announce the addition of five student-athletes to the 2018-19 roster. Marisa Brown, Darielle Evans, Karen Orozco, Majesty Pelletier, and Alyssa Strickland played for Rogers during the 2017-18 season at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. All 5 players will transfer to Yellowstone Christian and join the Centurions women’s basketball team this upcoming fall. "I am excited to add these players to help compete for a National Championship here at YCC." These are quality individuals that will help shape a culture here on and off the court."
Brown, a 5-9 forward, graduated from Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, California. Brown attended Citrus College for 2 years before coming to play for Rogers at Grace University in 2017. Brown ranked as a top rebounder in the NCCAA D1 averaging 9.9 rebounds per game and added 9.7 points per game, totaling 28 blocks during the 2017-18 season.
Evans is from Colorado Springs, Colorado and will join the Centurions for her senior season. She has played all 3 previous seasons at Grace University. Evans, a 5-8 guard, averaged 17.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and totaled 117 steals during the 2017-18 season. She also received NCCAA honors being a Student-Athlete of the Week as well as a 2nd Team All-Conference. Evans let the NCCAA D1 in steals and ranked in as a top scorer and FT%.
Orozco is a senior from La Quinta California graduated from La Quinta High School in 2014 and has played 3 seasons at Grace University. During the 2017-18 season Orozco, a 5-3 guard, appeared in 28 games and averaged 15.1 points per game. She was ranked as a top scorer while shooting 36% from the field and was 2nd Team All-Conference.
Pelletier is a 5-7 junior guard from Troy, Michigan and played for Bloomfield Christian School. She began her collegiate career at Grace University where she played 2 seasons. Pelletier played in 28 games during the 2017-18 season and averaged 4.18 points per game shooting 35% from the field.
Strickland is a 5-6 senior point guard from Conway, Arkansas and a graduate of Conway High School. Strickland began her collegiate career playing 1 season at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois before transferring to Grace University where she played 2 seasons. During the 2017-18 season Strickland played in 27 games and averaged 8.9 points per game and 4 rebounds per game while shooting 36% from behind the 3-point line. Strickland averaged 4.0 assists per game with a game high of 13.
